blip.fm I been using blip.fm for the past two weeks, and now it is one of my favorite web applications. Blip.fm is a social network very much like twitter.com but for music. Here are some of the things I really liked about blip.fm.

First, it has a very clean interface. It won’t take you more than 5 minutes to figure out how to use the basics. Although you have the option to search for music, I mainly just start playing the public stream and start listening what others are listening. I have been discovering music from all over the world this way.

Second, while you are listening to a song you like, you can add it to your playlist by clicking the star icon. This way is like creating your favorite custom music station.

One more thing I liked, is the feature of keyboard shortcuts. You can use the left or right arrow keys for previous/next song. So if you do not like a song you can skip it and keep listening something new.

Last but not least, you get to make new friends which share similar taste of music.

Even though these are just some of the basic features I like, it also has more advance features, like integration with twitter, friendfeed, tumbler and some other popular social networks. It also has a system to rate songs by giving “blips” which in simple English is just a way of saying you liked that song.

Well, if you didn’t know about blip.fm or if you haven’t tried it before, I hope you find this post useful.

This is what I’m listening:
