Had an awesome time participating in the Global Game Jam 2015 (Nashville), over 80 people attended the Nashville location. It’s amazing to see all kind of talented and creative people working together, sharing ideas, and creating a game from scratch in just ~48 hours.
The theme for this years Global Game Jam 2015 was “What do we do now?”
I (Carlos) collaborated in the team formed by :
- Justin Giles – Development/Idea
- Ben Nelson – Art
- Nicholas Wagner – Development
- Carlos Barcenas – Development
- Mike Lee – Story
- Christian Livegood – Story
- William Hickock – Sound
- Kai Vilhelmsen – Voice over
(I don’t have a link for some of our team members, please email me your url if you see this post to add it as a link, thanks. Click on contact at the top for email address.)
Props to Justin Giles for coming up with the idea for the game and for putting the final game together.
Our game is called “Crisis on Space Station X” the game is a collaborative text-based adventure, where 1-4 players can choose the path of our hero, a plucky little maintenance bot. The choice with the most votes is implemented, and leads to the next scene. Can you and a small army of robots save Station X from a terrible fate? The player’s pick their choice using four keys on the keyboard.
All art, background music, voice over, and game story were created at the location.
Here is a video gameplay of the game in action:
