Extraordinary sculptures by Saúl Hernández (from Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico). The “208 OSEOsidades” is a collection of 21 bronze sculptures of 21 centimeters in height. He uses the most common representation of death which is the human skeleton in a 1:8 scale replica of a real skeleton.

His sculptures represent the character in different every day attitudes, playing golf or soccer, thinking, playing guitar or making love. There is a character familiar to us in these astonishing sculptures. The absence of skin makes it relate to anyone, ignores whether if the person is fat or thin, white or black.

These sculptures are mounted on a base of marble, onyx and stainless steel. All the pieces are made in bronze with a wax of silver, a treatment of jewelry. The sculptures were personally executed by the sculptor in his studio Saúl Hernández H & M Foundry, located in the city of Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico.

These are amazing. I am simply in LOVE with these. The simple yet perfect figure of each piece makes them so surreal…what I like most is that the skeletons representing people that all seem (oddly enough) almost approachable.

    Love it…

  • Fritz

    Very Cool Nicely done

Would like to see how they are made

  • sheilia

    These are WONDERFUL ! I LOVE THEM ! I’m a sculptor and I wish *I* had done them ! :-)

  • cevemeve

  • http://www.sixpackpoet.com sixpackpoet

Love the detail and emotion conveyed in each piece. The guitarist speaks to me personally.

  • james

    LOVE IT keep it coming

  • GREG

beautiful, wish I could view them in the (un) flesh!

  • jess

wow these are amazing. Many in such causual poses, a few ran a chill down my spine, particually the one drinking a cup of coffee, and the one on the park bench because that is what we look like undernieth, that’s it. that’s all that is physically left of our bodies, and even then not for long. death is naturally feared and skeletions equal death, you look at these scultures you see the little death that is happening every second.

  • sigfried

    come on, these suck

  • matt

Brilliant sculpture-artwork…death will come to us all!
or is the artist saying we’re dead already..just going through the motions..cos we’re not this body..this bag of bones…but soul

  • paperjoe

    awesome!

  • http://zombiehead.etsy.com Zombie Head

Those are all amazing! I love them.

  • vlada

    wow..sculpture-artwork is beautiful,no comment,I never seen something like this,the idea is great…
do you have biger pictures,I would like to have them for my desktop…

  • http://virginmedia Billy

The anonymity of the skeleton, ( neither black, white, yellow, etc,) or creed, gives a happy medium that anyone then can relate too!, then can we relax, and enjoy!. (inspiration let loose!)

  • http://www.chartreusedesigns.ca Tracy

    WOW, these are incredible!

  • http://www.drsizzle.com Dr. Sizzle

I must have one. How much do you sell these for and do you do commissions?

    Tom

  • http://www.pixelelement.com Carlos B

Tom: Hello Tom, I’m glad you like them. Unfortunately I’m not the artist who made them. That would be Saúl Hernández. These sculptures were exhibited in a museum in Mexico. I do not know if they are for sale, but they probably are very expensive. I wish I could have all of them. Thanks for your comments.

  • pkprasad

    out of the box

  • http://www.ravont.com uzman

WOW, these are incredible! nice job….

  • Patrick

This makes me wonder…why do I always perceive skeletons as evil? Halloween costumes? Their resemblance to the Terminator? Thank you for allowing me to recognize the beauty in a skeleton

  • http://www.pixelelement.com Carlos B

    Patrick: thanks for your comment.

    Hola Saul Hernandez!!!

Te he mandado un email a tu correo.

    Carlos B.

  • Jason McMahon

First off I just wanted to say excellent photos of the sculptures. And the beauty of the sculptures themselves, I can’t even describe.

As with many people, I would be very interested in learning if there is an opportunity to purchase one of these fine pieces. Could you please email me if you have any additional details? Thank you!

Hey Saul, do you have access for people to buy one? I’m in LA and would love to know more or if you’ll be showing here.

  • Andreas

Really amazing. The originality stands out, and also the material the sculptures are made (it gives a colour and a look very nice). As many people are asking, I would know if they are in shops of if we have the option to buy one of them. Tell us how to do it because i really fell in love with this skeletons.
